Re: Beethoven Stems
I guess it should be C as in m. 173, a simple typo, no?

Re: Classical concerto for double bass in MuseScore
That's not Times New Roman, it's FreeSerif, the default font for text in MuseScore. I've used different fonts in the past, but now I want the guarantee that the score opens properly on any system (and I will only use fonts with a free software/free culture license). What is wrong with it specifical...

Re: Sibelius and font kerning

Re: A modern looking score in 2018?
So I did a little experimenting, trying to come up with a sans serif music font and testing whether it looked more "contemporary". Easier said than done. First thing I noticed is that there are different classes of music symbols that react differently to the attempt of making a sans serif ...

Re: Typesetting em dashes in lyrics - best solution?
In modern book typography, the first case would look like this: [[American English: em dash, no space]] Then would Thy name—the Just, the Merciful— Strange dubious ... [[British English: en dash, space before and after dash; in the example below the en dash looks rather short, it should be longer th...

Re: A modern looking score in 2018?
I saw this and thought of this thread: http://dreibholz.com/berlin-philharmonic-notation/ Here is a video explaining the reason behind the project: https://www.coloribus.com/adsarchive/commercials/22950015/ I wonder if the font has ever been used in real life. And I wonder what members of the orches...

Re: The treble clef as handwritten by great composers
Stravinsky again, 1927. Bass clef looks kind of sad, though.
