Re: Clef design comparision

Knut says the most important thing: font palette is the most difficult to create. Try to combine your most beloved symbols from different fonts and the score will end up in messy unbalance... Well, tisimst, many nice clefs, indeed. Now speaking just about my favorites: 4 and 13. No 11 is also quite ...

Re: Mysterious keys D

I doubt it too. Strange.
Keys ∆ and ∂ are mapped, though.

Re: Various Line Settings

John, I feel exactly the same. About 7 years ago I had a great "privilege" to have my music copied by persons who didn't have idea how to use Finale. So now, when I want to edit that piece, everything is resized in a strange way, starting from staff, system, page, fonts... Now I realize wh...

[MuseScore] Anyone use it?

Hello. Does anyone use MuseScore? I have just tested their version 2, and it looks very promising. Selecting any item on the "page" it is easy to manipulate it by settings provided in the inspector, similar to Sibelius. I have no idea about how good is music spacing, font handling, customi...

Re: Various Line Settings

John: excellent questions. I am confused by that - confusion!
In Finale, I always set up staff size to be 100%. Than I choose if it will be 7, 6 or 5 mm.
In Sibelius it is simple: staff size is just real number in mm. No reduction.

Re: Various Line Settings

@David W
John and tisimst have explained it beautifully. John's suggestions are indeed great: once you get it right with help from professional engravers you just keep on that standard.

@john
I am confused: isn't Finale's space the same term "space" in the analog engraving?

Re: Various Line Settings

I wonder: does it apply for any staff size (4-7mm)? If not, is there any table-ratio (spreadsheet) that we can use to re-calculate the different sizes? ADD-ON Q: How should resized staff be handled in this situation (violin+piano score)? Should the lines in the violin small staff be reduced equally ...
