Re: [puzzle] Two voices in one staff
[...]If the tie is moved above the notes, all interference is eliminated, and as I've said, I don't really think the tie could be mistaken for a slur in this case. That's basically the same as what I tried to do in my previous version, except that I also tried to maintain the connection of the tie ...

Re: [WORKBENCH] Brahms Op. 119, No. 1
It's been extremely interesting to follow this thread. Thank you, John and Knut in particular. If I can find the time, I'd love to try and make my own version of the Brahms Intermezzo. Although there still appears to be some proofreading to be done with both John and Knut's scores... I haven't check...

Re: How many slashes for unmeasured tremolos (including beamed)?
I look at this as a conceptual issue similar to that debated earlier: Those who view unmeasured tremolo as a direct continuation of the measured tremolo will likely take the beams or flags into account, and the number of slashes will thus depend on note value. On the other hand, those who view unme...

Re: How many slashes for unmeasured tremolos (including beamed)?
… … … tremolo.tiff Somewhat OT, but rather strangely I can view your .tiff file in Safari, but not in (latest) Firefox, which I use by default. This also applies to your recent .tiff in another thread here, and with two different Mac OS. I get the same experience using Opera. Odd... If anyone knows...

Re: [Finale] Spacing issue, two voices
If i compare your LP output with the default of MS, I think that MS wants to avoid having the augm. dot over the notehead, implying that it might be the staccato symbol. So, above edited examples in MS are the most OK - for me. Or Knut's, when the dot is more close to the :5 In my opinion, it would...

I wonder, how long ago was it better in Finale?OCTO wrote:THAT IS TRUE, this was better in the earlier Finale versions. I don't remember this issue to be so wrong before.

Re: How many slashes for unmeasured tremolos (including beamed)?
More and more, I think that a simple trem. marking over plain notes would be better than all those slashes, which illustrate how far one composer went to make sure that he got a tremolo in a very slow tempo. Then slashes would be reserved for exact measured repetition, and the musical world would i...

Re: Fonts for Dynamic
Can anyone identify the square, slab, semi-serif that Novello editions used to use in the 70s for dynamics and other marks? I haven't seen that "Novello font" anywhere else, but Novello had used it at least since the end of the 19th century. An example from 1899: http://petrucci.mus.auth....
