Re: Dorico slurs and beams
I wonder if there is a real solution to get, say 80 or 90% as one would like to, and manually adjust the inevitable. I just reconfigured all my beam settings over the weekend, and pretty much threw out all my older settings. In addition to Ross and the UE handbook, Clinton Roemer's book has very de...

Re: Enharmonic symbol
Perhaps an equal sign as a Line?
Might be confused for some type of tremolo though.- 07 Jan 2024, 18:10

Re: Enharmonic symbol
Bracketing the note often means to tacet or "ghost" it, so I wouldn't be inclined to use that. Gould shows a bracketed cue-sized stemless notehead on page 437 if you like that style.

Re: Dorico slurs and beams
Have you created this page in Dorico directly? If you did, please tell me there is a way other than Codas to achieve it! Haha, nope, just used Codas. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53442511821_0f7e2b67f9_c.jpg It's a really complicated mess of interrelated settings. Obviously the Beams setting...

Re: Finale 27.4 released
They released a patch a couple of days ago too, so 27.4.1 is now the current version. I really only use it anymore to quickly clean up files from a couple of clients and then export XML.

Re: Let's talk Manuscript Paper, Pens and other copying materials
Just wanted to mention the Julliard Store currently has the 9x12 Henle sketchbooks 20% off (through today). At $4.50 they aren't expensive to begin with, LOL, but I usually buy these 10 at a time to use for lessons as they are cheap enough to just give out to students. They are a pretty useful size ...

Tantacrul - "Music Notation Must Die: The Battle For How We Read Music"
It's a few weeks old now, so many of you might have seen it already, but Tantacrul recently had an interesting video on the history of music notation along with proposed systems and reforms. (Sorry if it was posted already and I missed it.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eq3bUFgEcb4 He sets it up w...

Re: Karg-Elert metrical curiousity
Good to know I'm not the only one that thought that was incorrect! I flipped through the rest of the book, and he didn't have any other additive time sigs like that, but did have a couple of things like this, which are much more straightforward: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53340426014_8b406b...

Karg-Elert metrical curiousity
I'm trying to make my way through the Karg-Elert "30 Studies for Flute" (Op. 107), and found this metrical curiosity on #9: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53340152613_8c177b7dfe_c.jpg The 2/8 + 3/8 obviously means sometimes you feel it in 2 and sometimes in 3, but that's not typically...
