I find ossias in Dorico to be incredibly easy. If you want the clef, just add it. If you want any sort of label, there's a setting in Layout Options / Ossias and Extra Staves.

More and more composers ask me to engrave their scores "in C". All of the composers I've worked with that came up in the pre-computer era have always written transposed scores. This is at least partially due to the fact that there was a 50% premium (under the NYC Local 802 contract anyway...

I think JJP's assessment is spot on. Marcato combined with staccato in jazz is certainly uncommon and generally just unnecessary clutter. All those seem fair. I was trying to keep them aligned per voice across the bar, as a 6/8 bar isn't that long, but Gould says they only need to be aligned within a beat, so you're probably right.

I think it's tricky to get that exactly as they need to be adjusted in intervals of the arp glyph. It's not like a solid line that can easily have fixed endpoints and any length you want.
