IMHO D is horrible, as a pianist I wouldn’t think of two separate rhythms in two separate hands here. I’m not sure whether to prefer A or C, maybe kneed beams are more legible?
How about one of these? I included the variant “B without redundant rests” mentioned by Schonbergian.

I know that! Train for “transport”, speeding quaver for “fast note entry” etc. :D

Does anyone still use MusiXTeX? I didn’t think so until I realized that the documentation (http://icking-music-archive.org/softwar ... sixdoc.pdf) was updated in January …

Re: If Dorico had Dorico...
You seem to have to specify two hyphens in the code just for one gap, and an underscore for each missed-out syllable...? Yes. But: Frescobaldi has a nice tool to automatically insert hyphens using hyphenation dictionary. It works pretty well for me, both for German and English language (and L...

Re: If Dorico had Dorico...
If Dorico or Petrucci had Dorico, wouldn’t they use a smaller paper or larger font size?

Re: LilyPond 2.20.0 release
Hm … has it to do with fonts? Sibelius’s and LilyPond’s default fonts have treble clefs (LilyPond also a whole note, a trill and a natural sign) that are very distinct from others.

(courtesy: typografie.info) https://notat.io/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=403 ;) This reminds me that I really would like to improve that font so that it can do roman numbers and maybe some extended functionality (like H. Riemann’s way of writing major, minor, Leittonwechselklänge, …). If I only had tim...

Re: Triplet across beat?
Ok, I’m not a professional engraver but looking at A before reading your post I simply thought “WTF”. B is much more understandable in this case IMO. Dotted notes under a triplet make it hard for me to see immediately when the a should sound. I tried to make an alternative version of A/B, see attach...

Re: Metrico: Font for metric equations
It does work for me in LibreOffice (6.3.4 on Manjaro Linux). It just doesn’t have quarter triplets (3qqq), only a single quarter triplet (3q) and eighth triplets (3eee). The display in LibreOffice is not optimal (it is cut off above the regular line height) but print preview, pdf export and print al...

Re: Metrico: Font for metric equations
Metrico seems not to support quarter triplets. The other notes are cut off in display but print and print preview are correct.
