Re: unis/div question

Maybe I've to clarify myself. What I'm addressing here is the score layout but this is not what the various instruments will get because they get they own instrument part only. As I said above, it's not really affecting wood and brass because they are mostly "on there own". However, for st...

Re: unis/div question

I have such cases in a piece I'm currently engraving, see below. UnisonoDivisi.jpg It starts with a divisi but for one single quarter note, both play the same. In this case, I put a2 above to remove any doubt. In fact I didn't do it, it's default in Lilypond. A stave later where I have Trombone 3 an...

Re: Margins

Before retirement, I used Acrobat professional for everything related to pdf processing. I've the same experience regarding margins mentioned above. Preparing multipage parts for the musicians in our orchestra I'm often affected by the problem with too large margins in booklet printing. A simple way...

Re: unis/div question

I tend to agree with OCTO, as a violinist, my "spinal reflex" would be to start divisi on the second quater note in the upper case. In the second case, there is no doubt, it starts with the first quater note

Re: MuseScore 4 question(s)

I forgot your remark about cues. Isolated cues, I put in the files containing the music or in a separate file. If I need the same cue music for many instruments, I put them in a separate file, then I've only need to write them once.

Re: MuseScore 4 question(s)

I'm just a beginner with MuseScore and coming from Lilypond, MuseScore is absolutely not intuitive. From profession I'm a space engineer, in the field of spacecraft attitude control, deep space navigation, software and operations. This has probably biased me because in engineering using for example ...

Re: MuseScore 4 question(s)

Just now is just an experiment for, so it's just frustrating to lose something in a crash. As I'm not a composer or arranger of music, I prefer to engrave the different parts first and when all are ready, to use the "music" and other support files to generate the score. I do not know if th...

Re: MuseScore 4 question(s)

As suggested by OCTO, I've spent some time to engrave Stenhammar's interlude in MS 4, which I've already engraved in Lilypond. It has been really frustrating and a lot of "blood sweat and tears" experience. MS 4 is not very stable and I lost the work two times because of a corrupted file. ...
