So it is your country that blocks imgur.  I would start now with the politics, but …no!  You can figure out what I would say.

I think Imgur refused to do what the UK regulator demanded it should do in order to ‘protect the privacy of children’, and instead blocked all access from the UK.

There seem to be technical ways round this if it becomes a nuisance.

I have also recently started to use a VPN because I couldn't manage some home-related websites while on the move (they wouldn't let me access it).
I am surprised at how I am actually getting a faster navigation speed than without it.
Perhaps downloads/uploads are a fraction slower, but the navigation experience is unparalleled.
