Hi again,

Are publishers' "house style" manuals available anywhere?

I'm most interested in Henle and Barenreiter, but i don't recall ever seeing them from any publisher.

peace!

Some publishers make them available to the public, such as Schirmer; but others restrict them to staff/freelancers. I dare say that copies are floating around.

(Behind Bars is basically a Faber style manual that got out of hand....!)

Thanks, benwiggy.

I wonder if its worth trying to contact publishers?

One would think they'd be posted somewhere

benwiggy mentioned the Schirmer guide. It's easy to purchase online in many countries. Search for "G. Schirmer/AMP Manual of Style and Usage"

I have the 3rd edition, which was published in 2009. I don't know if it has been updated since.

Some publishers are quite secretive about their exact style and usage specifications. After all, if anyone can knock out a score that looks as good...
