Floating Slurs cause some bubble-trouble

Dear Clear-Eyed Experts!
I have started to engrave a manuscript and came across an issue which occurs several times in this work: multiple parts on the same staff bring about some awful looking slurs between the beats.
What do you think I should do here? I don't want to confuse slurs with ties visually. At the same time these "default" slurs are faaaaaaaar away from notheheads and create somewhat unpleasant look.
If you notice anything else, don't keep it to yourselves :D
