Re: Microengraving
Good morning, fellas Yeah, that sounded strange to me too... I thought this term "microengraving" was common among professionals publishers. Maybe she's a professional and raises the detail level to the highest. Actually, I was wondering if that microengraving referred to a calculated kind...

Microengraving
Hey fellas,
A colleague from grad school engraved two sonatas for violin and piano of a XIX composer. She called her work as microengraving.
Does that really exist? What is it about?

Re: The term "Authentic" in Music Editing
Hi, John Thanks for you feedback. I have been working on engraving some works of this particular composer because they are almost all on manuscripts still, rarely performed, not simple at all to play and so unique. He died in 1914 at 30yo, so he didn't really have time to review his works, and yet h...

Re: The term "Authentic" in Music Editing
Good morning, fellas! Hope you're all doing well. So, here are some samples of what I've commented and worked on. These are manuscripts from the same composer, one from 1911 and the other from 1910. Re: The term "Authentic" in Music Editing
Hey, John. Thanks again for the reply. I have been working on Finale again since December last year after a period of almost 20 years. Today I have experimented and found many solutions I wish I had 20 years ago, thanks to YouTube videos, Google and now this forum. I'm and amateur, still learning, s...

Re: The term "Authentic" in Music Editing
Hi, John Good point... so, an editor is always crucial for a work in a publisher. The editor is often a musicologist. Well, I have some trouble understanding the difference among "editor", "reviewer" and "engraver". I'm not a native English speaker, so these terms still...

Re: Authenticity in Music Editing. Does it exist?
Good afternoon, fellas! That's a interesting point I was thinking some weeks ago. Speaking of authencity, Urtext editions should carry that authenticity according to the manuscript, right? But what does an Urtext edition is really about? Is it a literal "transfer" of what the composer wrot...

Re: Slur thickness
Hey John,
I just tried your coordinates, didn't see much of a difference from before though... slurs thickness looks the same :-/

Slur thickness
Hello guys,
Now I'd like to turn my slur just as thin as ties on Finale, so there's gotta be no differentiation between them. I think slurs default thickness is too much, I like ties thickness better. Where should I change that and what are the numbers?
Thanks!
