If you notate it + or some conductors will complain.

If you do it by the rules of grammar some will complain too.

If you throw in some tuplet, this will make it harder to complain

I tested Lilypond with Denemo, which is a different animal than Frescobaldi. I actually rather liked it, and if the competition had only been Sibelius I might have chosen Lilypond. But then I tried Dorico, and Dorico won.

It is a very unstandardized territory. Writing out the tuning of open strings is an elegant solution, but requires explanation later on whether the notation shows an actual pitch, or the position where the note would be in regular tuning with usual fingering.

If you refer to the a/ab at the end of the bar, I believe this is an instance of an implied natural -- the obvious a natural from after the barline should be played before the barline (see my post above).
