Working in Dorico!

Post by hautbois baryton »

So I earned my first payout using Dorico today... took a copy job (digitize a score and parts) that paid 2/3 the cost of the software.

Was surprisingly easy and had no difficulties other than having to manually space staves in parts.

you normally shouldn't have had to do this.

there are settings for ideal distances between all the various types of staff combinations.

the only time I have to go in and make manual changes in parts is for page turns.

No matter what I put in the ideal distance settings, nothing changed in the file.

I figure I missed something - next time it comes up I'll pop a note in the Dorico forum and see if I can get properly educated on how it works.

If you want to send over a sample project with the issue, I will gladly give it a look.

Yes, I'd agree -- I rarely do *any* manual adjustment of staves. Happy to look over a sample score and advise.
