i believe that Balakiev's Islamey had an amazing front page in the original edition. I hope that it is in that book. Here is another edition:

Your suspicion is correct, OCTO. From my quick perusal, it is a historical textbook that only showed images of front covers in the context of the historical treatise. I didn't see a single page of music in it.
