Hi everyone,
I'm trying to decide how best to notate the rhythm, ie: top example or bottom example. (In particular whether to use the tie or a quaver).
Thanks for any assistance which is always appreciated!

Re: Rhythm question please
In my opinion the second example definitely is the better one. It's more standard notation, I would think, and also easier to read because it's simpler.
Possibly the syncopes may be spelled out with ties for young children, but then this doesn't look like children's music.

Definitely the second one.
Syncopes are standard rhythm and easily recognisable, besides looking much better than tied notes!

Second is definitely clearer.
If you did want to keep the tie, I'd break the second beam under it; and perhaps reverse it to keep the subdivisions clear.

There is no computer problem so complex that it cannot be solved by a sledge hammer.
