I did this a while ago, and thought I'd posted here before, but apparently not.

Here's an attempt to recreate a page from John Browne's O maria salvatoris mater, from the Eton Choirbook.

Most of it was done in Dorico: I used Affinity to finish off a few things in the PDF:
  • Stems had to be coloured red. (Dorico only colours the noteheads.)
  • Ligature notes had to be either 'pushed together' or have new noteheads swapped in. (You could use tuplets to do more of the work in Dorico.)
  • Alternating the pairs of rests.
  • Adding the tinted background.
